I’m Miss MacRae, seamstress, kilt maker, milliner, and mantua maker (old fashioned term for seamstress who makes dresses). I specialize in historically accurate clothing for any need. Most of my experience has been with the Civil War era, but I’ve also completed projects from the Seven Years war, the War for Independence, War of 1812, late Medieval, and Renaissance time periods. I will work with you to design a custom garment that fits your needs, whatever the era. All garments are made to the highest authenticity standards whenever possible and to the satisfaction of the client. Although some machine sewing is used on interior seams to cut costs and provide durability, period construction techniques are researched for accuracy and are used throughout each garment’s construction.
